Serpentine belt service on the S2000

At 81k miles I figured it would be a good time to change out the serpentine belt. I believe the outgoing belt is an original piece so it is probably best to get it changed before it becomes a problem. I had one break on the Cobra a few years ago and it is no fun being stranded on the side of the highway when the heat index is 104 degrees. Anyway, I ordered one off Amazon since I have Prime shipping.

Installation is pretty easy and you don’t even have to remove the airbox. Just make a drawing of the belt routing or reference a diagram, remove tension on the belt by using a 14mm socket on the tensioner pushing counter clockwise and remove the belt. Reinstall is a breeze IF you have a diagram. The belt is ready for many more miles. Job done!

Make a crude drawing. You will need it.

I think my next maintenance item will be greasing the moving bits in the transmission and re-torquing the axle nuts to fix a clicking problem under load.
